About us

Founded by Comparus GmbH, our non-profit association Comparus hilft e.V. is dedicated to helping people affected by the war in Ukraine.

Since the foundation of our sister company in the central Ukrainian city Dnipro almost 15 years ago, we at Comparus have had a close connection to the country and the Ukrainian people. Our team structures benefit from interculturally mixed teams and we work together closely on a daily basis. Before the global Covid pandemic, we benefitted from regular mutual visits – since 2020 our collaboration is mostly virtual.

Since the foundation of Comparus hilft e.V. on March, 3rd, 2022, we have transported medical supplies on aid transports to Ukraine approximately every other week. Amongst other things, we have shipped gloves, gowns and caps, medicines, rescue sheets and anesthesia bags as well as crutches, wheeled walking frames and wheelchairs. Supplies, which should naturally be stocked in high quantities in any hospital, have become scarce in the current situation.

In addition, we care for refugees, who have found a new center of their lives in Hamburg and Norderstedt. We assist when it comes to official administrative formalities such as immigration, but also with everyday commodities – which are quite different from life in Ukraine.

The purposes of our association are the promotion of aid:

• for those persecuted for political, racial or religious reasons, for refugees, displaced persons, ethnic German repatriates and ethnic German resettlers;
• for war victims, war survivors, war-disabled persons and prisoners of war;
• for civilian victims and the disabled, as well as assistance for victims of crime;
• for promoting the memory of victims of persecution, war and disaster;
• for the promotion of the Missing Persons Tracing Service;
• for the promotion of rescue from danger of life.

By sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine

We keep close contacts to the medical staff and volunteers at Mechnikova hospital in the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro. They provide us with precise requirements lists, which we act upon: we procure the supplies and arrange transportation to Dnipro.

By assisting refugees in Germany

We also care for refugees, who have found a new center of their lives in Hamburg and Norderstedt. Some employees, family members, friends and acquaintances already arrived in Hamburg in March. We assist when it comes to official administrative formalities such as immigration, but also with everyday commodities – such as opening a bank account or equipping an apartment.

In our facilities in northern Hamburg, we also offer room for exchange, community, homework or retreat.

All contributors of Comparus hilft e.V are volunteers. That is one reason why 100% of donations can be allocated to where they are needed most.
